About Need Materials
Need Materials is a set of focused US roofing calculators designed to make the basis of an estimate easier to understand.
Run the calculators
Roof pitch, roof area and shingle bundles, one task at a time.
The problem we are addressing
A single roofing quantity can hide several different decisions: how a roof was measured, how slope changed its surface area, how much waste was added and how a product is packaged. Need Materials separates those steps instead of presenting one unexplained total.
How trust is built here
- Inputs and assumptions remain visible.
- Geometry, waste and purchasing calculations remain distinct.
- Product coverage must come from product information rather than a hidden default.
- Limits and warnings appear with the estimate they affect.
- Methods and reviewed sources are available for inspection.
Trust should come from a method you can review, not from unsupported credentials or claims.
